Brattleboro and Brattleboro-Putney Paving Construction Update 07/31/2026

Milling and side road paving are scheduled on U.S. Route 5 in the vicinity of the Exit 3 roundabout from 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, July 31, to 6 a.m. Saturday morning, August 1.

There will be NO CLOSURE of Interstate 91, Exit 3 on- and off- ramps Saturday, August 1. Closures are scheduled for next week (see below).

Guardrail work is scheduled on Vermont Route 9 from 7 p.m. Sunday, August 2 to 6 a.m. Monday, August 3.


Brattleboro and Brattleboro-Putney Paving Weekend Work 07/29/2026

Overnight work is planned for this Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2.

Friday, July 31st into Saturday morning August 1st, crews will continue paving on U.S. Route 5 between Noah’s Lane and Bennett Drive. Single-lane closures will be in place and uniformed traffic officers and flaggers will direct traffic through alternating traffic patterns as needed.

The on- and off- ramps in all directions for Interstate 91 Exit 3 are planned to be closed from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday morning, August 1st.

Interstate 91, Exit 3 Closure Schedule

Interstate 91 Exit 3 on- and off-ramps for northbound and southbound are scheduled to be closed THIS WEEK on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, July 28, 12 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Wednesday, July 29, 12 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Thursday, July 30, 12 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Friday, July 31, 12 a.m. – 5 a.m.

Overnight work on U.S. Route 5 and Vermont Route 9 is planned for 7 p.m. tonight Friday, July 24 to 6 a.m. Saturday morning, July 25.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

Interstate 91, Exit 3: Brattleboro (Night Work)

Short-duration closures of Exit 3 are planned for next week. Daily, from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. July 28-July 31, the on- and off- ramps will be closed in both directions for Interstate 91 Exit 3. Confirmation of the schedule for these closures will be distributed on Monday, July 27.

Vermont Route 9: (Night Work)

Between the Interstate 91 Exit 2 interchange and the Edward Heights intersection in West Brattleboro, flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through single-lane closures on VT 9. Monday night through Friday morning, work zones will be active from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. No street-side parking will be available in these areas of VT 9 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Pedestrians: Please exercise caution when navigating the work zone. Sidewalk work will continue on VT 9 through next week. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours and accessible ramps.


Brattleboro Selectboard Agenda and Notes – July 7, 2026

The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Municipal Center (230 Main Street, Room 212) and over Zoom.  Prior to the regular meeting at 5:30pm the Board will convene and is expected to move directly into executive session to discuss real estate. The attached agenda contains information on how to access the meeting remotely, including the required “passcode.”  Closed captioning will be available for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members. The backup materials for this meeting will be available on the town website by the end of the day.

There will be no overnight work tonight, Friday, June 26, 2026.

Crews will be off the road at Noon on Thursday, July 2, returning to work at 6 a.m. on Monday, July 6 in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.
