The Brattleboro Selectboard will find out what land the Town owns might be suitable for housing during their next regular Tuesday meeting. They’ll also hear from many more departments about their budget request for FY27, and hold a quick close out hearing for a scattered site grant with WWHT.

You can bring up other items not on the agenda during public participation.

The Brattleboro Human Services Committee will meet on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 6:30pm in the Planning Services Meeting Room (230 Main Street, Second Floor).

The Brattleboro Traffic Safety Committee will meet on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at 8:00am in the Selectboard Meeting Room and over Zoom (230 Main Street, Rm. 212).

It’s Murder

The outrage never ends. Just when you hope Trump will be reined in and not be allowed to bolster his cred as dictator, he tells the world to go **** themselves. It seems like the worst possible situation is now unfolding in the Caribbean and Pacific as the U.S. military kills people wantonly.

The U.S. is killing what they believe are drug dealers, without proof. They are targeting boats that they think are carrying drugs. Why is no one in the international community outraged about this illegal activity? Where are the international organizations such as the International Criminal Court? Why is no one trying to stop Trump’s murderous rampage as he pushes the U.S. closer to a war with Venezuela? The whole situation makes me physically sick because I feel so helpless to stop the killing.

The main components of the $2 million dollar increase in Special Education funding includes:

● An increase in intensive services at the elementary level including medically fragile students and the need for specialized equipment and technologies.

● An increase of $700,000 in benefits with the majority in health insurance as well as about $500,000 in contractual salary increases. It was noted that it is a new occurrence that an increase in benefits is now larger than salary. The balance of the increase is from the additional need for contracted services for evaluations and specialists such as speech language pathologist and psychologist services.
