The Windham Southeast Supervisory Union Board will meet at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at the Brattleboro Early Education Center, 112 Canal St., Brattleboro VT, and remotely via Zoom.

Nighttime single-lane closures will be in place Sunday night through Saturday morning from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Work will continue on Vermont Route 9 (Western Avenue and High Street), U.S. Route 5 (Main Street), and Vermont Route 30 (Linden Street). Flaggers will be present to direct one-way alternating traffic through multiple work zones. Motorists should be aware of wet paint.
Parking restrictions will be enforced during working hours. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours.
The Brattleboro Human Services Committee will hold a Q and A session with interested applicants and members of the public on Wednesday, October 8th at 4:30pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room and over Zoom.

While there is no formal agenda for this meeting, one might say it is divided in three parts:
Just in case the rest of the world needed affirmation, it is now crystal clear that the President of the United States is an arrogant, stupid fool who is in love with himself. There are other mental health issues as well, but his speech in front of the United Nations was painful to listen to, even for a few seconds. It sounded as though there was a lot of derisive laughter as he spoke. As an American, it was an embarrassment. Nothing new.
Trump’s madness is escalating because he has become completely intoxicated with his power. He is able to do whatever he wants and no one else in power is stopping him. There have been a few legal challenges and a few high level politicians have railed against him but, for the most part, his power is unfettered.
On Thursday, October 2nd, Green Mountain Power will be replacing telephone poles and other utility work on Abbott Road.
A full road closure will be in effect between the Ames Hill intersection to 541 Abbott Road on Thursday from 7:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Abbott Rd can be accessed from Greenleaf Street, up to 541 Abbott Road.
Another very dry month until the 25th with rain on 3 days totaling 2.6″ at my location. Some locations in Windham Co to the north of here received 4″ from this storm. This rain still left my location nearly an inch below normal with 3.44″ compared to NOAA’s norm of 4.21″.
Yesterday ended the water year that runs from Oct. 1 – Sept. 30 with 44.6″ compared to the average of 47.54″. About 3″ below the normal. For the “year to date” still slightly ahead at 35.96″ compared to the NOAA number of 34.94″.

He went on to found Children of War, connecting child survivors to share stories of survival and hope.

The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 4:00pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room and over Zoom. This will be a very brief, one item meeting with no live stream. The materials for this meeting will be on the website by 5:00pm today.
The Brattleboro Tree Advisory Committee will meet on October 2, 2025 at 4:30pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room.
