Join us for a Vermont Humanities Council First Wednesdays lecture at Brooks Memorial Library. On April 5 at 7 pm, Middlebury College professor Erin Sassin examines how American reformers and homeowners have, in pursuit of “the simple life,” attempted to reinvent the form and idea of the single-family home, from farmhouses and communal experiments to the current tiny house phenomenon.
Windham Regional Career Center Offers Spring 2017 Community Education and Training Programs
The Windham Regional Career Center at Brattleboro Union High School is pleased to announce their Community Education and Training Programs for this spring. Betsy Gentile, Workforce Development Manager and Adult Education Coordinator has coordinated 16 community education and training programs to meet the needs of area employers and their employees as well as providing personal and professional enrichment opportunities for all community members.

“Article 4: Shall general obligation bonds or notes of the Brattleboro Town School District in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000), subject to reduction from future state and federal grants-in-aid and the application of future reserves, payable over a term not to exceed ten (10) years, be issued for the purpose of making heating system improvements to the Green Street School, the estimated cost of such improvements being Nine Hundred Forty-Six Thousand Dollars ($946,000)? Brattleboro Selectboard Special Meeting Agenda, March 27, 2017
The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a special organizational meeting on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 5:30pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Municipal Center. An ASL interpreter will be available for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community members.

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served from 11:30 – 1:30. Specials are only $6 a plate. Burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available.

District 1 Caucus – Public Invited
Brattleboro District 1 will caucus just prior to Representative Town Meeting on Saturday, March 25 at Brattleboro Area Middle School beginning at 8:00 AM in the Mulitpurpose Room. Representative Town Meeting begins at 8:30 AM. District 1 will be accepting nominations to fill and appoint two town meeting member seats for 1 year.
Brattleboro Dog and Wolf-Hybrid Licenses Due
Brattleboro dog and wolf-hybrid licenses are due on or before April 1 (There is a grace period, this year only, until April 3rd due to the fact that April 1 falls on a Saturday). Vermont dogs and wolf-hybrids 6 months of age and older must be licensed on or before April 1. For dogs not previously licensed in Brattleboro, a first-time license must be obtained in person from the Town Clerk’s office. Licenses being renewed may be processed in the Town Clerk’s office, through the mail or online at www.brattleboro.org.
