Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia: Effective Communication Strategies for Caregivers

Brattleboro, Vermont. On Thursday, April 27th, 2017 from 2-4 pm in Bellows Falls and 5:30-7:30 pm in Brattleboro. Brattleboro Area Hospice & the VT Alzheimer’s Association will host 2 presentations on Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia: Effective Communication Strategies for Caregivers. The daytime presentation will take place at the Immanuel Retreat Ctr and Stone Church Arts (Currier House) at 12 Church St. in Bellows Falls. The evening presentation will take place at the Gathering Place at 30 Terrace St. in Brattleboro. The presentations are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Impairment Is Obvious

Canada has introduced legislation to legalize and regulate marijuana by July 2018. Governor Phil Scott has said that he wants a (non-existent) roadside marijuana test to be available before he would consider signing any legalization bills in Vermont.


Brattleboro Door To Door Vendors

Brattleboro residents are notified that personnel from Integrated Solar Applications Corp., will be going door-to-door through May 31, 2017 soliciting sales of solar products. “The Passion of Joan d’Arc” Featuring Live, Original Music by Dan DeWalt

On Saturday, April 15  from 7:30-9:00. The Williamsville Hall presents the 1928 French silent film “The Passion of Joan d’Arc” featuring the premiere performance of an original soundtrack performed live on piano by Dan DeWalt.  Admission is by donation and will raise funds for the Williamsville Hall. The Hall is located off of Route 30 in Williamsville (across from the Eatery).


Brattleboro Winter Parking Ban Lifted

The Brattleboro Parking Department would like to announce the lifting of the winter parking ban. Starting 04/12/16, at midnight, overnight parking will be allowed on all streets EXCEPT in the downtown area. The following streets are never available for overnight parking:

Church Street Closure

On Monday, April 10, 2017 and Tuesday, April 11, 2017, Church Street (between Green Street and Elliot Street) will be closed to all traffic from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm for operations related to the Central Fire Station upgrade.


Linden Street Closure

On Tuesday, April 11, 2017 the Brattleboro Department of Public Works, Utility Divsion will be performing an emergency road closure for the southbound lane of Linden Street from Anna Marsh Lane to Chapin Street during the hours of 6:30 am until approximately 6:00 pm to repair a failed valve. Northbound traffic will still be able to travel on Linden Street.
