Hinesburg Road Closure July 8th
Starting Monday, July 8th, Hinesburg Road will be closed to through traffic in the area of 402 Hinesburg Rd. The closure is to install a new box culvert. Through traffic will be detoured across Mather Road to Bonnyvale Road, and through Lee Road. The detour will be marked. Residents within the closure will still have access to their homes.
Brattleboro Board of Listers Meeting
The Brattleboro Board of Listers will meet on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 2:00pm in the Assesssors’ Office (Suite 109) at the Municipal Center.
CPCC Meeting Agenda
The Brattleboro Citizen Police Communications Committee (CPCC) will meet on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 5:30pm in the Meeting Room at Brooks Memorial Library.
Cotton Mill Hill Repairs Scheduled
On June 24, weather permitting, Cotton Mill Hill will be closed from Route 142/Vernon ST to the south end of the parking lot at the Cotton Mill Hill Complex. The road will be closed to allow the Highway Department access to replace failing drainage in the roadway. All access to the Cotton Mill Hill Complex will be from South Main ST.
Construction Announcement – Guilford Welcome Center
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) will be repaving the Guilford Welcome Center parking lot, including entrance and exit ramps. The center is located on I-91 Northbound.
Repaving will take place July 9 – August 23, 2019. When the car parking area is paved, visitors will use the truck/bus parking area. During construction, the Welcome Center will not be accessible to any truck, bus, or RV traffic.
Brattleboro Tree Board Needs a New Member
Do you like trees? They reduce energy use, provide erosion control, and help control storm water runoff. The Brattleboro Tree Advisory Board is short-handed and needs a new member. Selectboard Meeting Notes – Day Work Program Coming, Landlords Facing Inspections
The Brattleboro Selectboard took up a full agenda, though with only three members present, they themselves were not quite full.
The big discussion of the evening centered on landlords and a new rental housing inspection system soon to take effect, but the exciting news came during public participation when it was announced that a day work program, legal and with dignity, will soon be getting started.
Brattleboro Selectboard Meeting Agenda & Notes – June 18, 2019
Paving and pickups are a focus at the next regular meeting of the Brattleboro Selectboard.
The board will also begin the start-up of rental housing registrations and inspections, Groundworks will see an increase in Town funds for a housing project, the Brooks House will get a modification of their tax stabilization agreement, a Charter Review process may start up soon, and more. You can, as always, bring up other items not on the agenda during public participation near the start of the meeting.

The Brattleboro Traffic Safety Committee will meet on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 8:00am in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Selectboard Meeting Notes – FY20, Goals, and Raises
The Brattleboro Selectboard held their first meeting of June, spending most of the time discussing goals, but also approving Utility and Parking budgets for FY20.
Firefighters, administrators and office staff of Local 98 all got raises, and a new downtown design process will be getting underway.

The Brattleboro Energy Committee will meet on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 5:00pm in the Community Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Food Co-Op (2 Main Street).
The Brattleboro Tree Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 6:30pm in the Community Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Food Co-Op (2 Main Street).
The Brattleboro ADA Advisory Committee will meet on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 9:00am in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Brattleboro Selectboard Agenda and Notes – June 4, 2019
The Brattleboro Selectboard will spend over $40,000 for a new Downtown Design Plan and give out annual employee raises at their next regular meeting.
The board might also approve Utility Fund and Parking Fund budgets for FY20, they’ll appoint volunteers to boards and committees, continue consideration of their goals for the coming year, approve a parade, and punish Brattleboro dogs for the negligence of their owners to get them a licenses. You can participate, and bring up other items not on the agenda during Public Participation.

Selectboard Meeting Notes – FY20 Water & Sewer, Parking, Solid Waste Budgets
Vice Chair Tim Wessel led the board through the second regular meeting in May. It was a night of numbers, with Water & Sewer, Parking, and Solid Waste FY20 budgets being discussed in detail. One member compared the evening to math class, but budgets can be revealing, and many new town projects and plans were listed. The projects have timelines and costs, hence their inclusion in budget talks.
Filing Brattleboro’s 2019 Abstract Grand List & Warning of Grievances by Listers
The Town of Brattleboro announces the filing of the 2019 Abstract Grand List. The Brattleboro Board of Listers will hold grievance hearings at the Municipal Center (Hanna Cosman Meeting Room), located at 230 Main Street, starting on Monday, June 3, 2019. Applications to schedule a hearing are available at the Assessors Office (230 Main Street, Suite 109, telephone – 251-8156).
Brattleboro Memorial Day Closings
In observance of Memorial Day, all Brattleboro Town offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019, with the exception of emergency services.
Parking is free at all metered spaces and in the pay-and-display lots on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27, 2019. All other violations will be enforced.
Brattleboro Selectboard Agenda and Notes – May 21, 2019
The Brattleboro Selectboard will be reviewing a number of budgets at their next meeting. FY20 approaches with talk of Utilities, Parking, and Solid Waste budgets.
The contract with Rescue Inc. is up for renewal, a new handicapped parking space is set for approval, the board will continue to discuss goals for the coming year, the battle against knotweed will continue, and you will be asked to volunteer for the Town. You can also bring up other items not on the agenda during public participation.

The Brattleboro Arts Committee will meet on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 1:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.

The Brattleboro Energy Committee will meet on Monday, May 13, 2019, at 5:00pm in the Community Room at the Brattleboro Food Co-Op, located at 2 Main Street.
NOTE: The Traffic Safety Committee meeting previously scheduled on May 16 has been CANCELLED. The next Traffic Safety Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, June 20 at 8:00am in the Municipal Building.
