The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served from 11:30 – 1:30. Specials are only $6 a plate. Burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available.

Walking On The I-91 Bridge in Brattleboro

A beautiful, clear, cold day in Brattleboro for a town field trip to the new I-91 bridge, for a rare chance to walk across the bridge before it is opened to traffic. Many people took advantage of the offer of free bus rides to the site, departing from the BUHS parking lot at regular intervals.


Next WBA Meeting on March 9th to Feature Q&A with District 1 Town Meeting Members

The next monthly meeting of the West Brattleboro Association (WBA) will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 6:00 PM in the Hayes Court Community Room on Garfield Drive (just west of the W Bratt PO). After a review of the treasury report and the 2017 budget, the Neighborhoods Fund, and BizUp activities, the WBA will discuss various potential uses of the balance in the Sign Fund.


Local Artist Offers Unique Recycling and Up-cycling Workshop to Benefit Groundworks Food Shelf

BRATTLEBORO – With an up-cycled twist on basket weaving, a three-part workshop – taught by local artists Jackie Abrams, Jen Wiechers, and Janette Smuts – will benefit the Groundworks Food Shelf. The workshop, which takes place on three Thursday evenings (March 30, April 6, and April 20) at the River Gallery School’s Main Street Studio in Brattleboro, will cover the art of making ‘yarn’ from used plastic bags to crochet strong, colorful, and multi-purpose tote bags.


Local Musician Joel Veena Tours India and Netherlands with New Album

Brattleboro-resident musician Joel ‘Veena’ Eisenkramer has released his new world music album on digital platforms worldwide and is now on a concert tour in India and the Netherlands. This tour will span from March to May 2017 and cover ten different cities in the respective countries. The album, ‘Unexpected Blessings,’ features Joel’s 21-stringed Indian slide guitar in collaboration with local and international musicians including Gordon Korstange, Todd Roach and Jed Blume of Vermont, Suraj Nirwan of India and Kees van Boxtel from Holland.
