Tuesday’s Electorate! The Most Suckered, Desperate, Egoistic, Depressed, Proudly Ignorant, Dangerous People on Earth

This self-indulgent blind, deaf and dumb US electorate is dangerous for the genocide and eventual WW III it mostly unconsciously continues to vote for.

Americans voting on Tuesday are dangerous because the grand majority of them will be voting unconsciously for continuing genocidal wars, which, as Martin Luther King cried out one year to the day before he received a bullet to his head), “are meant to maintain unjust predatory investments on three continents.” America’s interests abroad’ is what this overwhelming majority of those voting will understand as protecting American freedom at home.

Weekend Concert Series: Controversy-Era Prince

Prince has been in the music news lately, having released two rather good albums simultaneously, rejoined Warner Bros., got control of his back catalog, and appeared on SNL.

He’s notoriously hard to find on the internet, but somehow we are (for the moment, at least) able to peer back to 1982, just as he was ascending. Note that this linked file may vanish.

This is from the Controversy tour, just before 1999 and Purple Rain, when many were still just finding out about him and trying to figure out what exactly they had found. Punk? Funk? New Wave? What was this? A controversy.

Postal Service Revenue Rises as Service Cuts Loom

BURLINGTON, Vt., Nov. 14 – Calling on the Postal Service to avert damaging service cuts and job losses, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) pointed to a new report today that revenue for the mail delivery service rose by $569 million during the fiscal year that just ended.

It was the second year in a row that profits rose, mainly because of increases in package deliveries to online shoppers.

Despite almost $1 billion in revenue growth over the past two years, the Postal Service is forging ahead with plans to shut down as many as 82 mail processing plants beginning in January. The closings would put 15,000 jobs in jeopardy.

“The truth is that we can never truly repay the debt that we owe to those men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our country. Since World War II, more than 500,000 Americans have lost their lives in war. Millions more have come home wounded in body and spirit. Their hard work has paid off and “now is the time” for them to develop recognition amongst a wider public.

Three Headed Dog

A central aspect of being a surfer is getting innundated with weather reports. If ever a group had its eyes on big storms and ’watershed events’ it’s the children of waves.  And the buzz now is zonkers over superstorm Nuri in the Northern Pacific. Nuri’s impact as a typhoon is starting to lessen, but nonetheless the Explosive Cyclogenesis (aka weather bomb) is charted as the most powerful event of its kind, ever.

Nuri began as a low pressure incident just off Guam a few days before Halloween, now over Alaska, soon to wreak its wreckage over the lower 48.
