Call for Photo Book Entries at Vermont Center for Photography
The call for entries for the Vermont Center for Photography’s 2nd Juried Photographic Book Exhibition “By the Books” is open until July 15, 2017. Noted photographer, Henry Horenstein will jury this exhibition Opening on August 4, 2017, it will showcase a wide variety of outstanding photographic books from artists around the world. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to “break out of the frame” and share your photographic work in an alternative format. All submitted books will be reviewed by our juror who will be solely responsible for selecting the books to be on display.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present an evening of contemporary bluegrass and folk music with The Lonely Heartstring Band and The Stockwell Brothers Band at Next Stage on Friday, June 30 at 7:30 pm.
Twilight on the Tavern Lawn presents The Dupont Brothers on Sunday, June 25
Twilight Music continues its 15th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk-rock, world beat, rock, pop, Celtic, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, June 25 with indie folk-rock trio The Dupont Brothers. The seven concert series continues every other Sunday through August 20. All concerts begin at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Green Mountain Well, Soundview Paper Company, The Putney Food Co-op, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations. Free Writing Contest for Southern Vermont and Nearby Counties in New Hampshire and Mass
WRITE ACTION is pleased to announce its 15th Annual Poetry and Prose Writing Contest for adults and teens. Entries will be judged anonymously. Each category will be judged by an esteemed writer from the tri-state area. Judge for both prose and poetry in the youth category is retired head of the BUHS English Department, Nancy Olson. Judge for poetry is James Kates; prose judge is Joe Mazur.

A Cappella à la Carte: Supper & Songs
Guilford, Vt. – Friends of Music at Guilford (FOMAG) presents its 51st season finale on Saturday, June 17, an annual three-part event dubbed “A Cappella à la Carte.” Set at Guilford Community Church, just off Rt. 5 near Exit 1 off I-91, the evening includes a short meeting, a potluck dinner, and a 7:30 concert of vocal music. Each optional segment is open to the general public; admission to the concert is by donation.
