Upper Forest Street To Close For Repairs

The Town of Brattleboro, Department of Public Works has contracted Bellco Excavation to reconstruct a failed retaining wall near the intersection of Forest and Upper Forest Streets, directly behind #61 Upper Forest Street. Be advised: Upper Forest Street in this vicinity will be closed for approximately one workweek starting Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, between the hours of 6:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. daily.

Brattleboro Stormwater Study

The Town of Brattleboro, Department of Public Works is working with Watershed Consulting Associates from Burlington, VT to complete a study in the local watershed. The study is designed to find and eliminate potential sources of water pollution linked to non-stormwater discharges into stormwater systems, such as those from sanitary sewers or leaking septic systems. The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will use grant funds from the Ecosystem Restoration Program (ERP) to fund this study.


Brattleboro Early/Absentee Ballots Available

Early/absentee ballots for the Brattleboro Town School District special meeting to be held November 7, are now available in the Brattleboro, town clerk’s office – for those registered to vote in Brattleboro. If you are registered to vote in Dummerston, Guilford or Putney, please contact those Town Clerks for details. Anyone wishing to vote prior to November 7 may apply for an early/absentee ballot until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6. Early/absentee ballots may be voted in person in the clerk’s office, mailed to the voter by the clerk’s office, picked up by the voter or delivered to the voter’s residence by two justices of the peace. Brattleboro Paving Project Delayed

The Town wide paving project scheduled to start today (October 10th) will be delayed until further notice. We will follow up when we have a new start date and appreciate the community’s patience.


Brattleboro Paving Schedule Fall 2017

Starting Tuesday, October 10th, Mitchell Sand and Gravel (a contractor for the Town) will be starting the Town of Brattleboro’s annual Capital Paving Project. We will begin milling small joints at intersections and Project limits. Weather dependent, we anticipate paving on Washington Street, Frost Street, Willow Street, Williams Street, Terrace Street, Tyler Street, Bradley Avenue, and Black Mountain Road from Wednesday, October 11th through Friday, October 13th. Please anticipate traffic disruptions during these operations.


Grace Cottage Hospital Ranks Top For Patient Satisfaction in New England

Grace Cottage Hospital has been recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Best Practice Recipient in Patient Satisfaction in the country by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Brattleboro Human Services Funding FY19

The Brattleboro Representative Town Meeting Human Services Review Committee is accepting applications for FY19 Human Services Funding. The Application, as well as Instructions and Guidelines, will be posted on the Brattleboro Town website – www.brattleboro.org. The deadline to submit applications to the Brattleboro Town Manager’s Office is Monday, October 30, 2017 at 12:00pm.
