Brattleboro, VT, March 10, 2018—The Honor Society and Community Service of the VTC ADN Nursing Program in Brattleboro, in partnership with Rutland Regional Medical Center and Be the Match Registry©, are hosting a Bone Marrow Drive in the Brooks House Atrium in Brattleboro on Saturday, April 21, 9AM-2PM. Donors need to be between the ages of 18 and 44 years old. Register with just paperwork and a cheek swab!
“Every four minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia,” according to the Be the Match© website. The only hope for individuals with blood cancers, like leukemia or other blood disorders, such as sickle cell anemia, is a marrow transplant. By donating bone marrow one can help save people’s lives, such as five-year-old Kate, whose donor, Lance, was a college student and due to his participation in a campus-drive and follow-through with emails, blood work, and of course his donation, Kate will now lead a healthy life.

Wednesday evening was the beginning of some rather strong wind gusts in Brattleboro, leaving many without power, phones, internet service, trees, or some combination of the above by Thursday morning.
We had a meeting in West Brattleboro earlier today. Along the way we passed repair trucks from just about every telecommunications provider. I counted six trucks parked with employees conferring just beyond the Farmers’ Market. There were others.
Gematria is the practice of coding numbers into words. In the beginning, according to the Book of Formation, which is the story of Genesis, God merged the letter with the number. Gematria is from the Kabbalah.
There are many different ways or ciphers to figure out the Gematria of a word or phrase. The English ordinal method a=1, b=2,c=3, z=26..etc The English Reduction method: z=26..2+6=8 The Reverse English ordinal method: a=26, b=25…y=2,z=1 and the Reverse Reduction method: a=8, b=7..etc..These follow the rules of numerology. The letter “S” is the 19th letter in the alphabet. In reduction “s” can also be 10 and 1.

On the morning of Sunday April 8th at 8 am to 9 am the Brattleboro fire department will hang the We Celebrate Democracy/Civil Rights For All main street banner over Main St. at High St. in downtown Brattleboro.
I’m going down to watch!
It makes me feel good to look up and see those words “Civil Rights For All” on the banner up above Main Street, so I go down to watch the fire company put the banner up. I feel like being there is a way I can make a public statement that Democracy and Civil Rights For All people are very important to me. The Works will be open. In order to stand up to the bullies in our society, we say at all our events: All people who attend this event agree to be nonviolent in word and in deed.
