It Is Below Freezing Oct. 10, 2025 Where Are Homeless VT Babies Tonight?

A homeless unsheltered Vermont baby left outside in the cruel cold of 31°F or colder weather can die from hypothermia in as little as 15 to 45 minutes. Infants and young children are particularly vulnerable to hypothermia because they lose heat more quickly than adults and have less body mass.

Couldn’t we charge Governor Phil Scott and the entire Vermont legislature with negligent homicide or something?

Full Moon Oct. 6, 2025!

I think the biggest stories in the United States right now are the protests against National Guard Troops which President Donald Trump wants to send to various cities, all of which have filed lawsuits to stop deployments.

The problem, as I see it, is there is a full moon tonight, and that can get people going. How excited will protesters be during a full moon?

This is What Democracy Looks Like – Call to Artists

We invite artists working in any medium — visual, literary, or performance — to submit works that respond to the central question:

What does democracy look like?

This isn’t a literal question. It could be as much about what democracy feels like or sounds like. It’s as much about community as politics. We welcome works that celebrate, question, grieve, protest, or reimagine.

Dialogue with State Representatiove Ian Goodnow

All are invited to this community dialogue with featured guest Brattleboro (Windham District 9) State Rep. Ian Goodnow on Wednesday October 15, 2025 – 6:30 pm in the Community Room at Brooks Memorial Library

While there is no formal agenda for this meeting, one might say it is divided in three parts:

What Is The End Game?

Just in case the rest of the world needed affirmation, it is now crystal clear that the President of the United States is an arrogant, stupid fool who is in love with himself. There are other mental health issues as well, but his speech in front of the United Nations was painful to listen to, even for a few seconds. It sounded as though there was a lot of derisive laughter as he spoke. As an American, it was an embarrassment. Nothing new.

Trump’s madness is escalating because he has become completely intoxicated with his power. He is able to do whatever he wants and no one else in power is stopping him. There have been a few legal challenges and a few high level politicians have railed against him but, for the most part, his power is unfettered.
