The Dummerston Community Center will be holding a Rummage Sale on Saturday, September 9th from 9 am-noon. Proceeds will help to offset maintenance & operating costs for the building. Items for sale include books, toys, games, kitchenware, clothing, footwear and many miscellaneous items and treasures.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present contemporary folk singer/songwriter and comedienne extraordinaire Cheryl Wheeler, plus Americana duo Willa Mamet and Paul Miller, at Next Stage on Saturday, September 9 at 7:30 pm.
The Brattleboro Selectboard returned from summer break to a full agenda and long meeting. A continued discussion of panhandling provided updates on efforts now underway as well as a new suggestion for a sign explaining “the rules.”
At approximately 4:15pm a strong thunderstorm moved through the area with very gusty winds. The storm brought down numerous trees and power lines, mostly centered in an area of Putney Rd from the Veterans Bridge north to the town line.

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served Mon – Fri from 11:30-1:30 pm. Specials listed below are only $6 a plate. Hand made burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available. Take out available by calling 257-0438.
Does anyone know of any group effort in town to get supplies to the folks affected by Hurricane Harvey?
The Brattleboro Selectboard will meet again on September 5, returning to business and signifying the end of summer break for all of us. There’s quite a bit of business, too.
Diamondstone’s wife, four children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will host a public celebration of his life Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the site of their former homestead at 787 Western Ave. The family is directing memorial contributions to Vermont’s Liberty Union Party, the American Civil Liberties Union and Green Mountain Veterans for Peace.
The Brattleboro Energy Committee will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 5:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
