WVEW-lp Status

Hello.

WVEW-lp has not been broadcasting over the air today (Tuesday March 1st). The windstorm last night knocked down trees near our transmitter location, taking out the electrical circut which services our transmitter. We’d hoped that service would have been restored much earlier today, but as of this writing, it is still out. As there weren’t live wires sparking all about, work at our site was moved down the list. With any luck power to the transmitter will be restored soon. Until then, our webstream is up and running, and may be accessed at wvew.org. While at our webiste, please consider making a donation to help us continue to provide Brattleboro with local access Community radio. Thank You.

Upper Dummerston Road Open Tuesday

Due to permitting restrictions associated with Town Meeting Day, we will not be closing Upper Dummerston today to erect bridge girders. Tomorrow’s forecasted weather will likely restrict this work as well. It is anticipated that the next closure of Upper Dummerston will be Thursday.

Super Tuesday and More Politics

Trump and Clinton have won decisive victories in conservative South Carolina. It’s all over! And both sides are making the wrong decision!

Or maybe it is not over. Most of the country hasn’t weighed in yet.

Some, like Vermont, will get their say on Tuesday. Others will be told on Wednesday that again, it’s all over! And everyone’s making a mistake!

Crafting for the Homeless – Help Make a Difference!

Crafting for the Homeless is in its second year of meeting on the first Sunday of the month from 1-3:00 pm at Brattleboro Area Jewish Community, Congregation Shir Heharim.

Some people come to learn to knit or crochet, others arrive with projects already underway.  Some are members of BAJC; some are not.  All are welcome! So far, we have donated over 5 dozen items to Groundworks
Collaborative, and we are also making knitted or crocheted squares to be stitched into afghans that we will sell to generate funds to purchase supplies.

Our meetings are lively and welcoming, with adults and children of both genders who talk and work and share ideas and thoughts. Some people take yarn home to continue their work on projects.

The project team is now planning to close Upper Dummerston Road from 7:00 am-5:00 pm on Monday 2/29, and from 7:00 am to 5:00 PM Tuesday, 3/1 for beam erection.

At approx. 9:00 am on Monday, 2/29, two tractor trailer loads are scheduled to come from I-91 Exit 3 south on Putney Road around the Retreat Park to VT 30 and then to Upper Dummerston Road. A total of three work days with Upper Dummerston Road closed are needed this coming week to complete the work.

This work will be rescheduled if there is any precipitation or adverse road conditions.
