Watching this video is the first time during my 75 years (during most of which I have thought of myself as an informed person) that I have heard of the Doctrine of Discovery of 1452, even though it provided the ideological justification for colonialism and the enslavement of indigenous people.
Because this Doctrine was issued as a Papal Bull, it became the guiding principal for all European countries.
TOWNSHEND — Grace Cottage Family Health & Hospital is now a Covid-19 vaccination site. Vermonters age 75+ can sign up to get their first dose at Grace Cottage by going to the Vermont Department of Health Covid-19 online Event Portal or by calling 855-722-7878.
So far, the following dates have been announced for vaccines at Grace Cottage: Wednesday, Feb. 10; Thursday, Feb. 11; Wednesday, Feb. 17; and Wednesday, Feb. 21. All appointments must be made through the Vermont Department of Health’s registration system.

This country has underfunded public health for decades. We are seeing the results of that malpractice as we try to test and vaccinate a significant number of our population during the COVID 19 pandemic.
It would be simplistic to blame the departed presidential criminal and his team for their lack of action during the pandemic. Yet, they do deserve a good share of blame for not creating a national plan to deal with COVID.
In order to understand why the Biden administration will not find a way to test and vaccinate a critical mass of Americans within a short time frame it is important to know that this country barely has a functioning public health system.
The Brattleboro Food Co-op is pleased to share that the SUSU commUNITY Farm was featured in January as the recipient of Round Up for Change. Customers chose to round up their purchases to the next dollar and contributed $5072.81 dollars in total to SUSU commUNITY Farm. We are so pleased to have such a generous customer base. We have deep gratitude for their contribution.
The Town of Brattleboro would like to remind everyone that the snow emergency ban is in effect.
Snow and ice will be removed from the streets in the downtown area this evening.
Parked vehicles in the downtown district must be removed by 11:00pm or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The Brattleboro Selectboard held a meeting to set dates for three Representative Town Meeting informational sessions. They approved liquor licenses, made appointments, certified highway mileage, and began design work on a shiny new parking lot.
Candidate for Selectboard Gary Stroud dropped out of the race, citing health issues that would prevent him from doing all that was necessary to be on the board.

In 2016, I got involved Brattleboro’s Planning Commission because I wanted to learn how our local government systems work and play a role in crafting our town’s future.

Tell us about yourself….
I have lived in Brattleboro since 2006. I graduated from Keene State with a bachelors degree in social science. I then enrolled in a 4 year legal clerkship at the the law office of Thomas Costello. I took the bar in 2012 and began my own law firm now named Chadwick and Spensley PLLC. We have three offices located in Brattleboro, Pittsford and Randolph. A large part of our practice is prosecuting police brutality cases against cities such as Burlington and Saint Albans. For seven years I was the head boys basketball coach at Bellows Falls Union High School. Last year I served as the freshmen coach at Brattleboro High School.

Trump has just established an official post-presidency office in Florida. “The Office of the Former President” will manage Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities.
According to a press release, “President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People.”
A smattering of small items awaits the Brattleboro Selectboard at their next regular meeting. They’ll approve dates for informational meetings, make a committee appointment, approve of annual liquor permits, and kick off the design of the new train station parking lot.
You can add small or large items not otherwise on this agenda during public participation.
