A discussion of issues related to panhandling in Brattleboro is scheduled for the next meeting of the Selectboard. It is likely to be a starting point for the board, as no definitive action is being proposed.
West Brattleboro, Vt. – “The Art of Poetry,” an exhibit of paintings and poems by Lynn Martin, will grace gallery spaces at All Souls Church through the end of August. An opening reception this Saturday, July 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., offers visitors an opportunity to speak with Lynn about her creative process as an artist and poet, and to enjoy a table of savory and sweet refreshments.
The Southeastern Vermont Watershed Alliance (SeVWA) continued its monitoring program for the summer of 2017 on Wednesday, July 5th. Volunteers will be collecting samples from 34 sites on nine rivers and streams every other week through the end of August. This year, we have sites on the West River, Flood Brook, North Branch Ball Mountain Brook, Rock River, Williams River (including the Middle Branch), Saxtons River, East Putney Brook, Sacketts Brook, and Whetstone Brook.
The Brattleboro Energy Committee will meet on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 5:00pm in the Hanna Cosman Meeting Room at the Municipal Center.

My beautiful loving sister Rupa Cousins has passed on today. I was awake most of the night restless. And there is great peace, joy with sadness in her passing. I wrote this last night and this morning i send this. To all who were touched by her magic, passion and love for life, let us celebrate, Rupa Sister Rainbow Dancer.
Managers and the Union Bargaining Committee at Brattleboro Food Co-op have come to a tentative agreement on a new, three-year contract. The contract is scheduled for ratification by July 15th. More details will be available thereafter. All participants were trained in Interest-Based Problem Solving by FMCS (Federal Mediation Conciliation Service), which will continue to be used as a tool as issues arise during the life of the contract.

The Town of Brattleboro reminds all property owners, residents, and business operators to keep sidewalks clear and free from any obstructions. This is necessary to maintain open and safe use of all sidewalks by all people, and it is especially important for people using wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.
