Due to additional necessary work, the closure of the lower floor of the Brattleboro Transportation Center will be extended until Saturday, June 11, 2021. The Brattleboro Transportation Center was due to open on Saturday, June 5, 2021, but due to the additional work the closure has been extended. The Flat Street entrance/exit to the Transportation Center will be closed to all traffic. Vehicles will be allowed to enter and exit through the Elliot Street entrance only.
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
DMI Paving (a contractor of the town) will be paving Western Avenue between Orchard Street and the Academy School. The work will take place overnight on Monday, June 7 between 6pm and 6am. There will be alternating traffic in the area during these hours. Motorists should expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes.
The US Fish & Wildlife Service is proposing that hunting bears with hounds be made legal on the Putney Mountain Unit of the Silvio O. Conte National Wildlife Refuge.

Brattleboro VFW Post #1034 was proud to be a drop off point for Operation Homefront’s Star Spangled Babies Shower. Operation Homefront is a nonprofit that assists low-income military families. The Vermont National Guard is facing its biggest deployment in 15 years, where service members are leaving behind their families for a year or longer. A lot of the family members left behind are new mothers and some are first-time mothers.

Once a year we have a day to remind us of those who have given their lives for this country as well as those we have lost over the years. When you reach a certain point in your life you experience more and more memorial days throughout the year.
Youth and growth is all about gain. We grow physically and our hopes expand into new realities as we create a career path and start to define our lives by relationships. We meet new people and we see the possibilities for making ourselves and the world a better place.
The Brattleboro Selectboard approved a plan to let Brattleboro Police switch from an understaffed three shift system to a two shift system that will reduce hours and stress. Brattleboro will go without patrol staff for certain hours of the week.
The water treatment plant is going ahead with approval of a firm to build the new plant, despite a bad reference and previous bad town experiences with the company. The local mask mandate will be lifted on Friday. And State Senator Becca Balint described the huge piles of money coming to Vermont in the near future.

Humankind is in an ugly period of suffering in the bloody hands of imbecilic investors in war, who own the American government and media and who cannot stop themselves from planning war, even terminal nuclear war, since they know that wars make money. Their funded elected politicians and media praise war on Memorial Day.
The Brattleboro Selectboard will take up matters relating to COVID at their next regular meeting. State Senator Becca Balint will give an update on ARPA and other funding sources, the board will discuss what to do about the mask order in town, they’ll talk about in-person meeting possibilities. and whether to continue deferring Small Business Loans.
Hiring a firm to help find Brattleboro a new Town Manager is up for discussion, as will approving a nearly $12 million big to build a new water treatment plant. You can bring up other items not on the agenda, and/or ask for your $12 million, during public participation.

Selling hand made burgers, chicken wings, fries and more Saturday the 29th from noon to 6 pm. Also selling those items Saturdays in June.
Breakfast every Wednesday and Saturday from 6am-10am. Public welcome, as are to-go’s.
Don’t forget there will be an extra breakfast offered Monday the 31st from 6am-10am. Three egg meat lover’s omelette with toast for $7.50 will be the special that day. Masks still required inside per town mandate.
