Now in its 51st season, Friends of Music at Guilford (FOMAG) presents its 8th Women in Music Celebration, a house-concert gala, beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. “This fundraiser for our concert season includes three important elements,” explains administrator Joy Wallens-Penford. “
With two Brattleboro Selectboard members absent, Tuesday night’s agenda was both shortened of items and extended by additional background information for the benefit of new members.
Construction on the new West Brattleboro Fire Station (Station 2) is complete and the Fire Department is now operating out of the new building. The Town of Brattleboro and the Fire Department personnel are proud of the new station and invite the public to tour the station, see the equipment, and celebrate this important milestone for our community.

The evening presentation will take place at the Gathering Place at 30 Terrace St. in Brattleboro. The presentations are free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served from 11:30 – 1:30. Specials are only $6 a plate. Burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available.

The Brattleboro Traffic Safety Committee will meet on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 4:00pm in the Selectboard meeting Room at the Municipal Center.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day will be officially proclaimed by the Brattleboro Selectboard at their next regular meeting at the Municipal Center on Main Street.
Canada has introduced legislation to legalize and regulate marijuana by July 2018. Governor Phil Scott has said that he wants a (non-existent) roadside marijuana test to be available before he would consider signing any legalization bills in Vermont.
Utilities Division crews will start Spring Flushing of the Town water mains on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. and continue through Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Brattleboro residents are notified that personnel from Integrated Solar Applications Corp., will be going door-to-door through May 31, 2017 soliciting sales of solar products. On Saturday, April 15 from 7:30-9:00. The Williamsville Hall presents the 1928 French silent film “The Passion of Joan d’Arc” featuring the premiere performance of an original soundtrack performed live on piano by Dan DeWalt. Admission is by donation and will raise funds for the Williamsville Hall. The Hall is located off of Route 30 in Williamsville (across from the Eatery).
