In the last week or so, I’ve met no less than 8 people who have told me they love reading iBrattleboro, but have never written anything on the site. No stories about things they know about, nor comments on what others are doing. But they visit and read it often. I assume that if I met eight in a matter of days, there are probably many others, too.

The Brattleboro Representative Town Meeting Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 5:30pm in the Tyler Conference Room at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Municipal Center. An ASL interpreter will be present for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members.

At their special meeting Tuesday night, the Brattleboro Selectboard finalized the FY19 budget. They agreed on the amount of fund balance to tap, set a final property tax rate, and reviewed draft warnings for Town Meeting on March 6 and Representative Town Meeting on March 24.

Vermont has just become the first state to eliminate penalties for possession of limited amounts of marijuana by adults. Governor Phil Scott signed H. 511 today.
Moving around town is more challenging during the winter months whether you are traveling by foot, on a bicycle, or in a car. Brattleboro’s Traffic Safety Committee worked with BCTV and local residents to create this short video that is packed with helpful advice for how to stay mobile and safe by being aware of and prepared for winter’s special hazards.
