The Brattleboro VFW located at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served Mon – Fri from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. Specials listed below are only $6 a plate. Hand made burgers, French fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, soups, wings and sandwiches are also available. Take outs available by calling 257-0438.
On Wednesday, November 29 at 7 PM, Brooks Memorial Library will host a presentation about conmen who made their fortunes and furthered their careers by coming to Brattleboro and working their magic art. Rolf Parker, a free-lance writer and local historian, will tell their stories and share tips and techniques for doing your own research and story-telling. Come learn how your work can become part of the Peoples, Places and the History of Words Project! It is funded by an NEH “Creating Humanities Communities” grant. BRATTLEBORO, Vt.: For the fourth year in a row, the art and crafts of Brattleboro-West Arts will make their way eastward for a downtown exhibit and sale, but this year’s event will feature an additional day of shopping, as well as delicious food and live music.
Brattleboro became the first town in the state to ban single use plastic bags under 2.25 mil in thickness. It was the culmination of nearly a year-long effort of citizens and officials, and was adopted by a split-decision of the Brattleboro Selectboard.
The Windham Regional Commission looks for public comments as they develop the Regional Energy Plan with four public meetings in December and January. The meetings will be an opportunity for the public to come and learn about why the Regional Planning Commission is creating a Regional Energy Plan, what information is included in those plans, and what that means for towns. The attendees will be invited to express comments on the draft plan and, more broadly, on energy planning in our region.

Brattleboro Senior Meals Menu November 20 thru November 24
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, all Brattleboro Town offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24, 2017, with the exception of emergency services.
A revised ordinance to ban single-use plastic bags will be taken up by the Brattleboro Selectboard at their next regular meeting. If there aren’t objections, a 2.25 mil bag limit will be adopted.
