The Brattleboro VFW located at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served Monday – Friday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Specials listed below are only $6 a plate. Hand made burgers, fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, soups, wings, and sandwiches are also available. Take outs available by calling 802-257-0438.
Costello, Valente & Gentry will be offering a Wills for Veterans at the Brattleboro, VFW Post #1034 Nov. 10th from 10 am – 2 pm. This a service offered to all veterans, and is by donation only. All donations will be sent to The Warrior Connection.

The Winter Farmers’ Market returns to the River Garden for its 12th season on Saturday, November 4th.
Fans of the famous outdoor summer farmer’s market in West Brattleboro, can simply follow many of their favorite vendors indoors to the only weekly farmers market in the region open every Saturday November through March.
Now that it is finally getting chilly out, it’s safe to say we are approaching . The Brattleboro Shop, our online Brattleboro souvenir store, has many mugs for you. These mugs are great for tea, coffee, and cocoa, and make perfect gifts.
The next monthly gathering of the West Brattleboro Association (WBA) will be a potluck/meeting and will be held on Thursday evening, November 9th. It will take place at 330 Meadowbrook Road, the home of Michael Bosworth. The potluck will begin at 6pm with the meeting following at 7.

Vermont Humanities Council Grant Supports Vermont Abenaki Artists Panel Discussions in Area Libraries
Native American Heritage month offers special opportunities to connect with Abenaki
artists at area libraries in a series of panel discussions titled “Wearing Our Heritage,” organized by the Vermont Abenaki Artists Association in partnership with Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council.
Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts is pleased to present Emily Mason, “Explorations”, a survey of Mason’s prints from 1985 – 2016. An Artist Opening Reception is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 5-7pm, followed by an Artist Talk Sunday, November 12, 5pm. This gallery-wide exhibition continues through January 7.

BRATTLEBORO: Borter’s Jewelry Studio on High Street announces its winter/spring schedule of beginner- and intermediate-level metalsmithing workshops and invites the public to preview the classes at an open house during November’s Gallery Walk.
Starting Thursday, November 2nd, Mitchell Sand and Gravel (a contractor for the Town) will be starting the Town of Brattleboro’s annual Capital Paving Project. The contractor will begin milling small joints at intersections and Project limits. Weather dependent, it is anticipated that paving on Washington Street and Frost Place will be on Friday, November 3rd. Subsequently following will be Willow Street, Williams Street, Terrace Street, Tyler Street, Bradley Avenue, and Black Mountain Road. The contractor may work Saturday if weather allows. On street parking will be impacted and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
