Reach Up? Governor Peter Shumlin is showing hatred towards low income Vermonters in more ways than one!
Give Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin’s administration an F- for providing an air pollution permit to a proposed BIOMASS Plant in a residential neighborhood of Springfield, Vermont, a neighborhood of many low income Vermonters.
This is abuse against low income Vemonters!

WATER MAIN FLUSHING TO START
Utilities Division crews will start Spring Flushing of the Town water mains on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. and continue through Saturday, May 11, 2013.
NOTE!! Some daytime flushing will continue throughout the week of May 13, 2013.
Please note that water main flushing will occur at night and also during the day.
Customers are asked to check the flushing schedule closely as flushing causes water discoloration, low water pressure, and in some areas intervals of no water.
It’s not that women aren’t violent. Of course they can be and have been violent.

Anyone hear what happened at the bridge in town? I just heard there was something involving a person jumping or possibly getting hit?
Starting Monday, April 22 through Thursday, April 25, the Library’s Front Entrance on Main St. will be not be accessible due to installation of new doors. The book drop (NOT VIDEO DROP) on Main Street will be accessible all day throughout the construction.
The Library’s Back Entrance next to the Municipal Center parking lot will be open and will accommodate wheelchairs. Handicap parking is in the Municipal Center lot.
Just spoke with friends in Boston and Cambridge and they have never seen anything like this before. Everything is shut down; public transporation; taxis; schools; government offices, businesses- everyone in Boston and surrounding towns have been ordered to stay inside. A friend who lives in Cambridge said it’s like a ghost town – nobody on the streets, no sounds of traffic, nothing. Very eery.
I hope that no more innocent people are killed in the ongoing search for the remaining bombing suspect. 19 years old – you wonder how someone becomes this evil; this twisted by such a young age. Frightening times we live in. I wonder if we will ever see peace.
I doubt it will happen in my lifetime – hopefully in my grandson’s.
On Friday, April 19, 7:30 pm, the Brattleboro Music Center will present the Goldstein-Peled-Fiterstein Trio, at Centre Congregational Church in Brattleboro, VT.
Bound by their Israeli roots, pianist Alon Goldstein, cellist Amit Peled, and clarinetist Alex Fiterstein formed the Goldstein-Peled-Fiterstein Trio in 2005. Today, the ensemble’s performances reflect both the special gifts and originality of the three artists as soloists as well as their marvelous sense of ensemble and love of chamber music.

All day the clouds passed over town. I have seen these type of clouds only in photos of HAARP clouds. So I ask myself why would we have Chemtrail HAARP clouds over our little town?
They looked man-made. I have pictures, but I hope you all did look up today and noticed them yourselves.
Through the auspices of e-Vermont and a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation, the Brooks Memorial Library is able to continue its free one-on-one computer coaching sessions into May and beyond.
In these private 45-minute sessions, participants meet with a skilled student intern from Community College of Vermont to learn basic computer tasks, such as setting up and using an email account, creating a Facebook account, or using a word processor or other popular software program. Experienced computer users are also welcome to bring their questions. The library has computers available, or participants may bring their own tablets, smart phones, or laptops to explore the capabilities of those devices; for example, downloading ebooks or other digital media.
As reported early this week, The Tavern at the Colonial Motel will be under new ownership come May. There are also a few other restaurant changes in the Brattleboro area.
Gillies Seafood is closed and the windows are bare. This was a go-to seafood restaurant in West Brattleboro staffed by friendly people, with good food and seemingly big crowds not too long ago. They also featured a fish market next door.
The Friends of Brooks Memorial Library will host a reception for the 16 Brattleboro area residents who will be World Book Night givers this year. On Saturday, April 20th from 11 AM -1:30 PM WBN givers will be able to pick up their books, meet their neighbors who are also participating, enjoy some refreshments and share where they will be giving away their books on April 23rd- World Book Night.
WASHINGTON, April 17 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today voted for expanded background checks on gun buyers and for a ban on assault weapons but the Senate rejected those central planks of legislation inspired by the shootings of 20 first-grade students and six teachers in Newtown, Conn.
“Nobody believes that gun control by itself is going to end the horrors we have seen in Newtown, Conn., Aurora, Colo., Blacksburg, Va., Tucson, Ariz. and other American communities,” Sanders said. “There is a growing consensus, however, in Vermont and across America that we have got to do as much as we can to end the cold-blooded, mass murders of innocent people. I believe very strongly that we also have got to address the mental health crisis in our country and make certain that help is available for people who may be a danger to themselves and others,” Sanders added.
Sometimes it’s hard to know the difference between normal teen behavior and the warning signs of alcohol use. Many teens act out and test boundaries. It’s what they do. gives parents and caregivers examples of sudden changes that could be signs of underage alcohol use, and how to connect with other parents and advocates for help.
The Connecticut River Valley Baseball League resumes the tradition of New England Town Team adult baseball on Sunday, April 21 when it begins its 12th season at four local ballparks. All eight of the League’s teams are in action on Opening Day, with three New Hampshire teams hosting clubs from Vermont, and one all-New Hampshire game.
The games, all of which are free to the public, begin at 11 a.m. when the defending CRVBL champion Claremont Cardinals host the Putney Fossils at Barnes Park; the Keene Black Dawgs entertain the Chester Crush at Marlborough Field in Marlborough, and the league’s newest entry, the Sunapee Old Lakers, play host to the Newport Polar Bears.
